Gov’t eyes IDR 9 trillion in another sukuk auction
JAKARTA. The Indonesian government once again arranges the tender of Government Sharia Securities (lit. Surat Berharga Syariah Negara/SBSN) or State Sukuk scheduled to take place next Tuesday (6/5) with an indicative target of IDR 9 trillion.
There will be six series of state sukuk offered in the auction. They consist of one series of Government Sharia Treasury Notes (lit. Surat Perbendaharaan Negara Syariah/SPN-S) and 5 series of project-based sukuks (PBS).
The yield attached to SPN-S is in the form of a discount, while the yield offered for PBS series varies, starting from 5.37% to 6.87%.
In the tender, the government will also offer PBSG001, a green sukuk that is available in the domestic primary market. The issuance of this series has concluded the green sukuk issuance program that has been conducted five times in the global market since 2018 and five times in the domestic market.
According to IDNFinancials data, the Indonesian government had also carried out a state sukuk auction on May 23, 2023. In said round of auction, the incoming bids reportedly reached IDR 54.75 trillion. Meanwhile, the awarded amount clocked up to IDR 7 trillion. (KR/ZH)
