JAKARTA. PT Wintermar Offshore Marine Tbk (WINS) is increasing the capacity of its high tier fleet in line with the projected demand for offshore support vessels for offshore projects.

In a public expose held today, WINS announced that the plan to increase the fleet will boost the company's profitability. Efforts to increase this fleet have also been initiated by the company in recent years.

In 2021, the company acquired 2 ships. Then in 2022 the company acquired 6 units of ships and in 2023 as many as 1 ship.

Of the 9 ships acquired, currently 5 units are in operation. "While the remaining 4 ships, 2 of which are expected to start operating in June 2023, 1 ship is ready to work in July, and only 1 ship is still in the reactivation process," said Pek Swan Layanto, WINS Investor Relations.

Meanwhile Sugiman Layanto, President Director of WINS, expressed his confidence in the next few years in anticipation of an increase in offshore support vessels. "This optimistic prospect arises at a time when the supply of offshore support vessels is still limited due to the decline in the industry over the past few years," said Layanto.

For the record, WINS has booked contracts of US$ 66 million until April 2023. This includes contracts that have been received by the company, but have not yet entered the construction stage. (KR/LM)
