JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGAS) has repurchased USD 53.44 million worth of its 2014 Bonds. The outstanding amount of those bonds is USD 396.70 million, and will mature in May 2024.

In the information disclosure quoted Tuesday (26/9), Rachmat Utama, Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Gas Negara, revealed that the company repurchased bonds with an open-market purchase scheme last week (22/9). “The internal cash is used for repayment of Bonds, thus not affecting the liquidity of the company,” he added.

On May 16, 2014, PGAS issued Bonds worth USD 1.35 billion with a 10-year tenor. On December 15, 2022, it paid some of the notes for USD 400 million, then cancelled some of the notes worth USD 499.85 million on May 31, 2023.

At the end of the first half of 2023, PGAS recorded equity of USD 3.35 billion, rising from USD 3.44 billion in December 2022. Its total liabilities and equity clocked up to USD 6.93 billion, shrinking from IDR 7.19 billion in December 2022.

Its profit then declined to USD 199.15 million from USD 278.34 billion. This slippage is affected by the swollen cost of revenue, whereas its revenue only booked a minuscule increase from USD 1.74 billion to USD 1.78 billion. (LK/ZH)
