JAKARTA. The number of wholesale PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) car sales increased 2% to 421,409 units for the period January to September (9M) 2023.

Boy Kelana, Head of Corporate Communications at ASII, said that this growth was also driven by increasing sales of Astra electric vehicles. "Astra together with its partners continue to introduce EV (Electric Vehicle) products which are the spirit for today and Indonesia's future," said Kelana, in an official statement.

The market share controlled by ASII in 9M 2023 is 56%.

However, ASII's monthly car sales for the September 2023 period fell 13.31% to 44,051 units. The details consist of 26,164 units of Toyota and Lexus cars, 15,009 units of Daihatsu cars, 2,690 units of Isuzu cars, 172 units of UD Trucks and 16 units of Peugeot. (KR/LM)
