Sukuk auction slows down, incoming bids stuck on IDR 17.05 trillion
JAKARTA. The incoming bids in the auction of Government Sharia Securities (lit. Surat Berharga Syariah Negara/SBSN) or State Sukuk last Monday (5/3) hit IDR 17.05 trillion, 14.2% year-on-year (yoy) lower than the incoming bids recorded on February 20, 2024, which reached IDR 19.88 trillion.
On last Monday’s auction, there were 7 series of state sukuk offered in the auction. They consist of 2 series of Sharia Treasury Notes (lit. Surat Perbendaharaan Negara – Syariah/SPNS) and 5 Project-Based Sukuk (PBS).
PBS032 series reported the highest incoming bids, amounting to IDR 6 trillion. Meanwhile, PBS039 series recorded the least amount of incoming bids, totalling IDR 289.5 billion.
“The total awarded amount scored from seven series of the offered sukuk is IDR 7.38 trillion.” added the Directorate-General of Budget Financing and Risk Management (DJPPR) of the Ministry of Finance.
For the record, the incoming bids last Monday was said to be the lowest amount recorded in other auctions held since the beginning of this year. It is evident after looking at bids coming in the sukuk auction on January 9 of IDR 28.3 trillion, on January 23 of IDR 23.77 trillion, February 5 of IDR 23.65 trillion, and February 20 of IDR 19.88 trillion.
