JAKARTA. PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) booked wholesale of cars of 41,240 units in February 2024, up 9% from the previous month, recording 37,984 units.

Boy Kelana Soebroto, Corporate Communications of ASII, said that this growth is in line with national car wholesale that reached 70,656 units in February 2024, up 1% from last month. In January 2024, total national car wholesale was recorded at 69,617 units.

“Eid al-Fitr and the new models to be launched this year are expected to positively contribute to national car sales,” Soebroto added in the press release.

Until February 2024, ASII still dominated domestic car sales with market share of 58%. In addition, the company also leads in LCGC (Low-Cost Green Car) sales with market share of 74%.

Based on product segment, Toyota + Lexus became the most extensive contributor, recording the highest car sales of ASII in February, clocking up to 23,732 units. Next, Daihatsu followed behind with sales figure of 15,088, ahead of Isuzu with 2,245 units, UD Trucks of 167 units, and Peugeot of 8 units. (KR/ZH)
