WTR to support Waskita Sriwijaya Tol, this time with IDR 1.33 trillion capital
JAKARTA. PT Waskita Toll Road (WTR), a subsidiary of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) engaged in the toll road business, has channelled extra capital to PT Waskita Sriwijaya Toll (WST) worth IDR 1.33 trilion.
Muhammad Hanugroho, President Director of WSKT, said that the investment will not change WTR’s portion in WST, which is 99.69%. Meanwhile, the minor shareholder of WST, Prodexim, also still owns 0.14% of the shares, and Bende has another 0.17%.
“The purpose of this transaction of WTR and WST is to fulfil the funding needs of WST,” Hanugroho said in the official statement.
With this extra capital, Hanugroho added, WST is expected to maximise its performance, as well as providing added value to WSKT as WTR’s shareholders.
According to IDNFinancials data, WST was established in 2011 as the concession holder of Kayu Agung- Palembang-Betung (Kapal Betung) Toll Road. The concession period is 50 years, starting from 2016.
This Kapal Betung Toll Road project carried out by WST spans from Lampung to Banda Aceh. It is designed as an alternative path of the national road of Eastern Trans-Sumatra Highway. (KR/ZH)
