JAKARTA – Legrand Indonesia, collaborating with Indonesia Data Center Provider Organization (IDPRO), held the second edition of Legrand Day 2024 – Data Center Summit last Tuesday (14/5), featuring experts, authorities, and business players in the data centre industry.

Benoit Coquart, Global CEO of Legrand, participated as one of the panellists in a series of discussions. These talks covered a spectrum of topics, starting from future trend and prospects of data centre industry to the demand of AI-ready infrastructure, as well as sustainability and efficiency aspect of this industry.

In line with the discussion topic, particularly regarding AI role in the data centre industry, Legrand claims to have quickly adapted to the current trend. “Legrand developed a turnkey AI data centre solution, designed for immediate deployment and seamless scalability,” added the management in the press release quoted today (15/5).

Another major topic that was brought upon in the summit was sustainability aspect of data centre industry, and how it can align its growth with net-zero emission target of Indonesian government.

Related to this, Dyah Roro Esti, as a member of DPR Commission VII, admitted that data centres require a significant amount of energy. “To foster sustainability, we must use cleaner energy sources. We are drafting a new and renewable energy bill to reduce CO2 emissions,” Esti added.
