JAKARTA. PT Transcoal Pacific Tbk (TCPI) has reportedly divested 1 unit of motor vessels called Varuna 01 for a transaction value worth IDR 8 billion.

Erizal Darwis, Director of TCPI, confirmed that said vessel was sold to an unaffiliated company on June 4, 2024. “This asset divestment is meant as a refreshment of our vessels,” he said in the official statement.

In addition, Darwis mentioned that the condition of this divested vessel has become less commercial to be operated. “With this divestment, we expect the company’s operational activities to improve in the future,” he added.

On the same occasion, TCPI also mentioned that asset divestment was also done by its subsidiary, PT Energi Transporter Indonesia (ETI), through a sale of its barging boat. With the same purpose, this divestment value was set at IDR 18 billion.

Prior to this, in May 2024, TCPI also sold 2 units of vessels, consisting of 1 unit motor vehicle called Anugerah 1 and a barge called HM 303. These vessels were sold for IDR 6 billion and IDR 12 billion each.

Similar to Varuna 01 sale, divestment of Anugerah 1 and HM 303 was done to refresh TCPI’s fleet, considering both vessels are deemed no longer commercial. (KR/ZH)
