Waskita Karya to inject IDR 10 billion for Kapal Betung Toll Road
JAKARTA. PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT), through its subsidiary, PT Waskita Toll Road (WTR), has channelled extra capital worth IDR 10 billion to PT Waskita Sriwijaya Toll (WST), a business entity that owns the concession of Kayu Agung–Palembang–Betung (Kapal Betung) Toll Road.
The extra capital was given alongside the increase of WST’s issued and paid-up capital to IDR 4.99 trillion from the previous IDR 4.98 trillion. The entire new shares issued by WST is taken over by WTR.
With the extra capital, WTR’s portion in WST will rise to 99.78%. Meanwhile, other investors’ ownership percentages, such as PD Prodexim and Perumda Bende Seguguk, will be diluted to 0.10% and 0.12%, respectively.
The management of WSKT mentioned that said capital injection is given in order to meet WST’s funding needs. “With this capital increase from WTR to WST, it is expected to maximise business performance and give added value to the company as WTR’s shareholder,” said the management of WSKT.
According to IDNFinancials data, WST owns a concession of Kapal Betung Toll Road with a period of 50 years, starting from 2016. Kapal Betung Toll Road is one of the routes of Trans Sumatra Toll Road, which spans from Lampung to Banda Aceh. (KR/ZH)
