JAKARTA. PT RMK Energy Tbk (RMKE) posted a coal transportation volume of 916.8 thousand metric tons (MT), up 53% year-on-year (yoy) or from the same period last year.

As an information, the volume of coal transportation handled by RMKE in June 2024 posted the highest record. "The operational performance in June was very positive, in fact the volume of coal loading onto barges this month reached the highest volume during RMKE's operations," said Vincent Saputra, President Director of RMKE.

Vincent added that RMKE's performance in the second semester is expected to improve as the weather improves. "So that we can achieve this year's target in the second semester of 2024," added Vincent.

Meanwhile, as of June (6M) 2024, RMKE's coal transportation volume has reached 3.9 million MT to 495 barges. The company has also dismantled 1,627 coal train trains, with a total capacity of 4.04 million MT.

The company's barge and train transportation volumes are equivalent to 42% and 40%, respectively, of the 2024 transportation target.

Meanwhile, RMKE's coal sales volume has reached 1.2 million MT in 6M 2024. The company's coal sales in this period grew 6.5% yoy. (KR/LM)
