Dividend season’s over, here are two most royal tobacco moguls
JAKARTA – Two out of four tobacco manufacturers listed on the stock exchange reported dividend increase in fiscal year (FY) 2023 compared to FY 2022.
Based on IDNFinancials data today (10/7), PT HM Sampoerna Tbk (HSMP) has distributed IDR 8.06 trillion of dividend or IDR 69.3 per share. It is 26.68% higher from FY 2022 dividend allocation of IDR 6.36 trillion or IDR 54.7 per share.
Said allocation refers to its net profit attributable to the parent entity of IDR 8.09 trillion, retained earnings of IDR 8.07 trillion, and total equity of IDR 29.86 trillion.
PT Wismilak Inti Makmur Tbk (WIIM) also allocates dividend of IDR 22.31 billion or IDR 107.1 per share, up 47.18% from FY 2022 allocation of IDR 151.04 billion or IDR 72.9 per share.
The dividend allocation is made based on net profit attributable to the parent entity of IDR 494.31 billion, retained earnings of IDR 1.32 trillion, and total equity of IDR 1.84 trillion.
On the other hand, PT Indonesian Tobacco Tbk (ITIC) is seen with dividend allocation of IDR 4.70 billion or IDR 5 per share, relatively stagnant compared to FY 2022 allocation. The net profit attributable to the parent company was reported at IDR 26.96 billion, retained earnings were at IDR 56.01 billion, and total equity clocked up to IDR 397.93 billion.
Meanwhile, PT Gudang Garam Tbk (GGRM) reportedly abstained from dividend distribution for FY 2023 despite its profit surge to IDR 5.32 trillion from IDR 2.77 trillion. For FY 2022, this company allocated dividend of IDR 2.30 billion. (LK/ZH)
