Non-oil and gas trade to China saw deficit of USD 5.43 billion in H1 2024
JAKARTA - Non-oil and gas commodities trade between Indonesia and China was reported at deficit of USD 5.43 billion until June 2024. In H2 2024, total non-oil and gas exports to over 13 countries reached USD 117.18 billion, while imports clocked up to USD 91.63 billion.
Based on Statistics Indonesia (Badan Pusta Statistik/BPS) data quoted today (17/7), import from China reached USD 32.44 billion, up 8.20% year-on-year (yoy) from USD 29.98 billion. Meanwhile, in June 2024 alone, China import increased 10.11% yoy from USD 4.82 billion.
In terms of export, Indonesia reported trades to China of USD 27.01 billion in H1 2024, down 9.71% yoy from USD 29.92 billion, whereas in June 2024 alone, export to China climbed 1.46% yoy to USD 4.58 billion.
China contributed 32.12% to total exports of Indonesia to 13 primary destination countries in H1 2024 worth USD 84.11 billion. Meanwhile, import from China dominated 45.56% of total import from said countries with total value of USD 71.20 billion. (LK/ZH)
