UI Professor: Indeks52 may serve as research reference for college students
JAKARTA – Rofikoh Rokhim, a Professor at Universitas Indonesia (UI), promotes Tempo and IDNFinancials’ Indeks52 to younger generation through several universities in Indonesia. She told IDNFinancials during the meeting of Committee of Indeks52 in Jakarta yesterday (24/7).
According to Rokhim, Indeks52 may be used as a reference for students’ theses, particularly the ones in economy and business faculties in universities. Furthermore, this effort will allow Indeks52 to be more acknowledged in educational institute setting, similar to other indices.
Rokhim is known to focus on research in banking, strategic management, and financial management segments. She obtained her doctoral degree from Universite de Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, France.
In March 2021, Rokhim was inaugurated as a Professor of Economy and Business Faculty of UI following her dedication and contribution in the academic field.
Wahyu Dhyatmika, CEO of Tempo Digital, appreciates Rokhim’s support for Indeks52. “Her proposition should be followed up soon through partnership with college management,” he added.
According to Dhyatmika, Indeks52 may also be referred by Gen Z, who are interested in being retail investors, for their stock market activities.
Until the end of 2023, retail investors in Indonesia multiplied fivefold within the past 4 years, recording single investor identification (SID) of 12.16 million.
As is known, Tempo and IDNFinancials will hold an appreciation night for Indeks52 constituents next Friday (26/7) in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. Indeks52 itself has four categories: Main Index, High Growth, High Dividend, and Big Market Cap, each of which consists of 52 constituents.
The total constituents, however, only clock up to 84 due to intersection of the constituents in different categories. Total market cap of these 84 constituents is IDR 8.96 quadrillion, or 76% of total market cap of IDR 11.6 quadrillion as of March 2024. These selected issuers only constitute less than 10% of total 934 issuers listed in the stock market in June 2024. (LK/ZH)
