Govt must be prudent regarding plans to save Sritex
JAKARTA - The House of Representatives (DPR) reminded the Government to be prudent in its plan to save PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk (SRIL). This was conveyed by Misbakhun, Member of Commission XI DPR in Jakarta (30/10).
He conveyed that state assistance does not have to be in the form of monetary assistance, but in other forms, including regulations that help them get out of difficult situations. “Why? The bankruptcy process is already underway. They failed just because of one bill," he said.
According to him, President Prabowo Subianto's comments regarding the rescue of Sritex were not necessarily considered financial assistance. All parties must understand the form of bail out or financial assistance that the government will provide.
"It's not a matter of bailing out. What is the mechanism? For example, Jiwasraya, the state is a shareholder, right? In this case, the state is not a shareholder," he said.
As is known, the Commercial Court of Semarang, Central Java rejected the request for peace (homologation) to stop the implementation of obligations to PT Indo Bharat Rayon (IBR) of IDR 100.30 billion.
Responding to this, Welly Salam, Corporate Secretary of SRIL said that the Sritex Group will carry out internal and external consolidation for the benefit of stakeholders. (LK/LM)
