JAKARTA – PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) or BNI recorded moderate credit growth at the end of September 2024, up 5.7% year-on-year (yoy). However, home ownership credit (KPR) was recorded to have soared higher than the industry average.

Based on the Q3 2024 Financial Report, BNI's credit distribution was reported to have reached IDR 735.02 trillion as of September 2024, consisting of loans to affiliated parties amounting to IDR 137.44 trillion and third parties amounting to IDR 597.58 trillion.

From the property credit sector, Bank Indonesia data shows a growth in the realization of property credit distribution of 7.6% yoy, mainly driven by KPR/KPA loans which grew by 10.8% yoy. Meanwhile, BNI KPR growth reached 13% yoy as of September 2024.

This fertile KPR distribution has also encouraged growth in the consumer credit segment. According to Okki Rushartomo, Corporate Secretary of BBNI, BNI's consumer credit sector grew 15% yoy until September 2024.

KPR growth is also getting smoother, supported by various stimuli in the property sector, including the extension of the 100% DTP VAT incentive until the end of December 2024, as well as the 3 million house program directed by President Prabowo.

"It is hoped that this government initiative can contribute positively to credit distribution in the property sector which will ultimately boost BNI's overall credit performance. We are aiming for credit growth of around 10-12% by the end of 2024," added Rushartomo. (ZH/LM)
