Minister of Manpower to rally CEOs in a collaboration to boost manpower
JAKARTA – The Ministry of Manpower encourages collaborative workforce development programs with public companies listed in the stock market to boost labour competency. This was conveyed by Yassierli, Minister of Manpower, during his keynote speech at Top CEO Indonesia Awards 2024 at Pullman Bandung Grand Central, Friday (15/11).
It is mentioned that the focus of the workforce development program for the next five years will cover competency improvement, workforce placement expansion, labour welfare and protection enhancement, competitiveness increase, as well as labour management reformation.
According to the minister, in order to increase competitiveness of the workforce, there must be a collaboration of all stakeholders. Thus, in this case, Chief Executive Officers (CEO) have a big role to advance labour competency.
CEOs, especially those listed as the best ones at Top CEO Indonesia Awards 2024, are expected to drive labour skill improvement by collaborating with various parties, including employment programs in the Ministry of Manpower.
It is known that Tempo and IDNFinancials lists 51 best CEOs at Top CEO Indonesia Awards 2024, coming from different industry sectors, namely banking, mining commodities (mineral and coals), road infrastructure, telecommunication, processed food and beverages, and property development.
In addition to Yassierli, some other notable speakers include Jahja Setiaadmadja, President Director of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA); Susanto Djaja, President Director of PT Metrodata Electronics Tbk (MTDL); and Agustinus Prasetyantoko, Professor of Applied Economics at Atmajaya University, Jakarta.
