JAKARTA. PT Nestle Indonesia invested US$ 100 million (Rp 1.4 trillion) to increase the production capacity in its three Indonesian factories by 25%.
Debora Tjandrakusuma, Director of Corporate Affairs at Nestle Indonesia, said the three factories were located in West Java, East Java and South Sumatra. "To increase Nestle's production capacity in Indonesia from 625 thousand tons to 775 thousand tons per year," Tjandrakusuma explained as reported by Kontan on Tuesday (28/1) today.
The three factories will support the production of a number of Nestle Indonesia's flagship products, such as Bear Brand, Milo, and Maggi.
The Ministry of Industry also welcomed the plan. "We hope that this industry will be more competitive to the global scene," explained Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of Industry, on the same occasion. (KR/AR)
