JAKARTA - State-owned energy firm PT Pertamina (Persero) projects its revenue to decline due to lower demand during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and triggered by the volatility of crude prices.
This was conveyed by Pertamina CEO Nicke Widyawati in a virtual meeting with the House of Representatives' Commission VI on Thursday (16/4). According to her, oil fuel sales have dropped 34.6% nationally from January and February. Sales drop has occurred since the first two months of the year, starting from 16.78%.
Pertamina, Ms Widyawati said, has prepared two assumptions. The first assumption is that the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP) would reach US$38 per barrel with an exchange rate of Rp 17,500 per US dollar, which could potentially lower the company's revenue by 38% or US$58.3 billion.
The second assumption is that ICP would reach US$31 per barrel with an exchange rate of Rp 20,000 per US dollar, which could potentially lower Pertamina's revenue by 45%. (ARM/AC/MS)
