JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), the operator of the Mahakam work area in East Kalimantan, has commenced work on three offshore platforms worth US$105 million owned by the Oil and Gas Task Force. The projects aim to support 20% of production in the Mahakam work area by 2024.
According to PHM's acting CEO Danar Dojoadhi, the construction of the three offshore platforms will be completed by the end of 2021 with a total weight of 5,500 tonnes. "The platforms include Jumelai for the South Mahakam field and North Sisi and North Nubi for the Sisi Nubi field, which will produce 120 million MMSCFD of gas," he said in an official statement after a ceremonial event between PHM and PT Meindo Elang Indah (MEI).
The construction is a follow-up to the engineering, procurement, supply, construction, and commission contract signed by PHM and MEI on July 27, 2020. (LK/MS)
