The net volume of foreign transactions was quite decent at 456 million shares
JAKARTA - On Tuesday, January 10, the net trading volume of foreign investors reached its highest level since early January, totaling 456,178,600 shares. Foreigners purchased 2.53 billion shares, while they sold only 2.08 billion. Foreign investors were most interested in PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) shares this time, with a purchase volume of 413.89 million and a net volume of 312.95 million. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) shares, on the other hand, were the most sold, with foreign investors selling 135.59 million shares of BBRI for a net volume of minus 44.69 million.
Overseas investors also purchased 110,125,500 shares of PT Bank KB Bukopin Tbk (BBKP) with a recorded net volume of 100,001,100 shares. The investors also bought shares in BUMI's subsidiary, PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS), totaling around 51.62 million shares for a net volume of 42.38 million. Furthermore, foreign investors also bought up a total of 44.18 million shares of PT Wir Asia Tbk (WIRG), with a net volume of 35.28 million shares. The shares of PT Hatten Bali (WINE), a wine company from Bali, were also quite appealing to foreigners after being purchased in as many as 37.34 million units. Due to the small volume of foreign sales, the net volume of the newly public company reached 37.07 million shares.
For foreign divestment movements, shares of PT Pan Brothers Tbk (PBRX) were sold the most. Foreign investors sold 50.66 million PBRX shares, resulting in a net volume of nearly -50 million. Foreign shareholders then released 75.14 million shares of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) and 61.85 million shares of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA). Net volumes for the two large bank issuers were -27.39 million and -19.94 million, respectively. Finally, foreign investors sold approximately 42.37 million shares of PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL), an oil and gas tanker company. (KD)
