Forbes: Low Tuck Kwong is the richest in Indonesia
JAKARTA – Low Tuck Kwong now sits at the top on the list of the richest people in Indonesia, according to the Real-time Billionaires of Forbes.
As quoted from Forbes’ website today (6/2), the man behind PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN) now surpasses the position of R. Budi Hartono and Michael Hartono of Djarum group, the renowned tobacco manufacturer, who now arrive at the second and third position.
Tuck Kwong’s total assets are estimated to reach USD 26.5 billion. Meanwhile, both Hartonos recorded total wealth of USD 24 billion and USD 23.1 billion, respectively.
In 2022, BYAN’s market capitalisation indeed reached IDR 700 trillion and was included in the Top 3 Highest Market Cap in Indonesia. For comparison, in 2021, it was stuck at the 15th, boasting only IDR 90 trillion of market capitalisation. (LK/ZH)
