Foreign investors are selling shares. What exactly are they releasing?
JAKARTA - On Thursday, February 9, the list of market indicators was dominated by investors with more than 5% stakes who were busy selling their shares. Foreign investors account for five of them. UOB Kay Hian (Hong Kong) Ltd. became the first to sell shares from two issuers at the same time. A total of 314,912,500 shares of PT Central Proteina Prima Tbk (CPRO) were sold, reducing UOB Kay Hian's ownership to 11.44%. Following that, this brokerage firm sold a total of 2,760,000 shares of PT MNC Kapital Indonesia Tbk (BCAP).
Furthermore, the GOTO Peopleverse Fund once again sold up to 92.87 million shares of the technology issuer PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO). It is followed by Bintang Bara B.V., which sold 1,110,000 shares of an investment issuer in the energy sector, PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk (TOBA), and also Morgan Stanley and Co. International Plc, which sold 385,900 shares of a production house issuer, PT MD Pictures Tbk (FILM).
In the domestic market, PT Goldfive Investment Capital sold 100,000,000 shares of logistics and transportation company PT Bintang Samudera Mandiri Lines Tbk (BSML). Furthermore, PT Putra Borneo Agro Lestari sold 1,592,500 shares of palm oil issuer PT Sawit Sumbermas Sarana Tbk (SSMS).
On the other hand, two issuers carried out buybacks: PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk (DOID) with 5,000,000 shares and PT Jaya Real Property Tbk (JRPT) with 1,610,000 shares. Finally, DB Singapore-DCS S/A Pangolin Investment Management Pte Ltd, a foreign investor, purchased 3,350,000 shares of PT Metrodata Electronics Tbk (MTDL), an information technology firm. (KD)
