JAKARTA - On Thursday, February 16, Garibaldi Thohir, also known as Boy Thohir, purchased 1,103,171,034 shares of PT Surya Esa Perkasa Tbk (ESSA). The brother of the SOE Minister, Erick Thohir, directly controls 6.4% of this issuer, which is engaged in the energy and chemical sectors. Furthermore, Chander Vinod Laroya, Surya Esa Perkasa's CEO, also purchased 783,044,350 shares of ESSA, increasing his stake percentage from 13.02% to 16.38%.

Following that, two issuers were said to be still conducting buybacks: PT Ramayana Lestari Sentosa Tbk (RALS), which claimed back 10 million shares, and PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk (DOID), which claimed back 5 million shares. PT Sarana Inti Selaras also recently purchased up to 5 million shares of coal issuer PT Kapuas Prima Coal Tbk (ZINC).

Furthermore, two large transactions involving foreign investor UOB Kay Hian (Hong Kong) Ltd. were observed. First, the company made an investment by purchasing 25.22 million shares of PT Central Proteina Prima Tbk (CPRO), while making a divestment in PT MNC Kapital Indonesia Tbk (BCAP) by releasing 4,300,000 shares.

Still in the foreign market, GOTO Peopleverse Fund sold 5.57 million shares of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), while Morgan Stanley and Co. International Plc. released 229,400 shares of production house PT MD Pictures Tbk (FILM). Finally, Rudy Kurniawan Logam, one of the company's founders, sold 3.01 million shares of offshore services company PT Logindo Samudramakmur Tbk (LEAD). (KD)
