Volta to secure incentives from gov’t
JAKARTA. Volta, a subsidiary of PT NFC Indonesia Tbk (NFCX), has officially secured electronic vehicle (EV) incentives from the Indonesian government.
The incentives will be given in the form of subsidy of IDR 7 million per unit of total 200 electric motorcycles put out to the market by Volta. The subsidy will be available starting March 20, 2023, until December 2023.
Said subsidy is given to electric motorbikes with the level of domestic component of 40%. Volta has recorded the level of domestic component of 47.6% for its electric motorcycles.
Willty Awan, Director of Volta, claimed that the incentive granted for Volta’s electric motorbikes will aid in the acceleration of the EV utilisation in Indonesia. “Volta has meticulously prepared the electric motorcycle production capacity to meet the market’s demands,” he said.
Meanwhile, Abraham Theofilus, President Director of NFCX, claimed that his company will continue to commit to improve the infrastructure for electric vehicles and drive the growth of the clean energy business sector. “As of now, Volta has contributed in reducing carbon emission of up to 3,300 tons of CO2 and reached over 100 million kilometres of mileage,” he stated.
