BRI grant gov’t IDR 23.15 trillion of dividend in FY 2022
JAKARTA. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BBRI will grant IDR 23.15 trillion of cash dividend to the Indonesian government as the controlling shareholder that owns 53.19% of BBRI.
Out of the total dividend channelled by BBRI for the fiscal year 2022 of IDR 43.5 trillion, the government, as the major shareholder, will secure 53.19% of them, or equal to approximately IDR 23.15 trillion. Sunarso, President Director of BBRI, announced the decision in the press conference today (13/3).
Sunarso mentioned that in the past 5 years, the total dividend distributed by BBRI to the government clocked up to over IDR 49.4 trillion.
Until February 2023, the government still has a claim over 53.19% of BBRI’s shares, leaving the remaining 46.81% to public investors with less than 5% ownership. Specifically, 10.99% of BBRI’s shares are owned by domestic public investors with ownership percentage below 5%, whereas foreign investors share another 35.81% amongst themselves with ownership percentage of less than 5%.
