JAKARTA - Perry Warjiyo, Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) has been approved by Commission XI of the DPR as Governor of BI for the 2023-2028 period after the fit and proper test at the DPR, Monday (20/3).

Kahar Muzakir, Chair of the DPR's Commission XI said that he had elected Perry by acclamation as Governor of BI for the 2023-2028 period.

According to him, Perry Warjiyo's performance was quite good in the previous period, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Perry Warjiyo, Governor of BI appreciates all parties, especially President Joko Widodo who has re-entrusted the position of Governor of BI. "Thank you, Mr. President, for trusting me for five years," he said.

Perry Warjiyo's leadership as Governor of BI for the 2018-2023 period will end in May 2023. Perry is the sole candidate for Governor of BI that was submitted by Jokowi to the DPR. (LK/LM)
