JAKARTA. PT Elnusa Tbk (ELSA) has reportedly signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KHAN Co Ltd, an oil and gas company based in South Korea.

Said MoU covers the cooperation and collaboration in decommissioning, commissioning, Offshore Hook Up and Carry Over (HUC), pipe laying construction, as well as O&M/P&M contribution for the offshore development of engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of ELSA.

Ratih Esti Prihatini, Director of Development of ELSA, claimed that this cooperation is an industrial collaboration between the delegations of Indonesia and Korea within the Korea-Indonesia Offshore Congress 2023. “We believe this prospect will continue to improve in the future as business opportunities for Elnusa and our way to support government programs,” she explained in the official disclosure.

According to SKK Migas data, as of now, the offshore platforms in Indonesia amount to 635 units, 512 of which are currently-operating platforms. Another 116 have become idle, whereas the other 7 is abandoned.

“Through the partnership with KHAN, we hope to establish a collaboration that will generate sustainable economic benefits for those idle platforms,” Prihatini mentioned. (KR/ZH)
