JAKARTA – The profit of PT Blue Bird Tbk (BIRD), a taxi company, proliferated 4,074% in 2022 compared to the same period in 2021. This positive surge in its performance resulted from increased revenue and decrease in its financial expenses.

In the 2022 Financial Report quoted Wednesday (5/4), Sigit Priawan Djokosoetono, President Director of Blue Bird, claimed that BIRD’s profit in 2022 was IDR 364.02 billion, massively multiplied from IDR 8.72 billion in 2021. The net profit attributable to the parent entity also soared 4,545% higher to IDR 358.35 billion from the initial IDR 7.71 billion.

The revenue went up by 61.71% year-on-year (yoy) from IDR 2.22 trillion to IDR 3.59 trillion, similar to its gross profit that scored 117.44% yoy growth from IDR 493.96 billion to IDR 1.07 trillion. Attaining these numbers were made possible after direct expenses depleted, from taking up 77.74% of the revenue to 70%.

Taxi contributed the most to the total revenue with IDR 2.78 trillion worth of income, followed by non-taxi of IDR 803.02 billion. For comparison, in 2021, taxi brought in IDR 1.62 trillion, while non-taxi generated IDR 604.83 billion. (LK/ZH)
