JAKARTA – Due to persistent losses within the last 4 years, PT Matahari Putra Prima Tbk (MPPA) decided not to distribute cash dividend to the shareholders for the fiscal year 2022.

The data compiled by IDNFinancials today (26/4) showed that MPPA’s shareholders agreed not to send out cash dividend in the Annual General Shareholders Meeting held last week (19/4). The company recorded revenue of IDR 7.01 trillion, but ended up with IDR 429.63 billionpe of loss after taxes.

The similar condition was observed prior entering the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, this retail company recorded IDR 6.65 billion of revenue and IDR 337.54 billion of net loss. Then, in 2020, its revenue clocked up to IDR 6.74 trillion, while its net loss was IDR 405.30 billion. Even in 2019, the company recorded net loss of IDR 552.67 billion.

Until March 2023, MPPA’s shares were recorded at 8.47 billion units, 39% of which belonged to PT Multipolar Tbk (MPPL). Then, BNYM Reconsilium owned another 7%, followed by PT Goto Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) of 6%, and the public of 48%. (LK/ZH)
