HITS's subsidiary to rent oil tanker
JAKARTA - PT Hutama Trans Kencana (Matrans) will rent one unit of oil and chemical tanker owned by PT Pelayaran Korindo (PK) for the next five years. At the end of the rental period, Matrans will then purchase said tanker.
Tony Aulia Achmad, President Director of PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi Tbk (HITS), the parent of Matrans, said that the tanker has started operating earlier this week (7/5). The unit is acquired through a bareboat hire purchase (BBHP) scheme, or option to purchase the vessel once the lease period is over. "The leaser is an unaffiliated party of the company," he reaffirmed in the information disclosure quoted Wednesday (10/5).
BBHP agreement in this transaction includes the payment of prepaid chartered of USD 1.4 million within three days after the tanker handover, followed by the rental fee of USD 3,726 per day, paid in advance for the total period of 5 years, as well as the option to purchase said vessel for USD 1.6 million once the leasing period is up.
According to Achmaed, the rented vessel is in a vacant state, and is intended to further advance its subsidiary's performance.
Matrans is a subsidiary of HITS through PT PCS Internasional (PCSI), whose 99.9% of shares belong to PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional. (LK/ZH)
