JAKARTA. PT Merck Tbk (MERK), a pharmaceutical company under Merck Group, Germany, announces its intention to share cash dividend of IDR 143.36 billion, equal to IDR 320 per share, that will be taken out of its net profit in 2022.

Melisa Sandrianti, Corporate Secretary of MERK, claimed that this plan is in line with the result of the Annual General Shareholders Meeting held last week. In said meeting, the shareholders agreed to set aside 79.7% of the net profit gained last year as cash dividend.

According to the information disclosure in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), MERK's cash dividend will be given out to its shareholders whose names have been registered by the recording date on May 23, 2023. The actual disbursement will take place on May 26, 2023.

Based on IDNFinancials data, MERK has scored a net profit of IDR 179.84 billion until December 2022. The company has also recorded retained earnings of IDR 712.8 billion and total equity of IDR 757.24 billion.

As of now, Merck Holding GmbH, Germany, controls 73.99% of MERK. Meanwhile, Emedia Export Company mbH, Germany, also claims another 12.66%, leaving the remaining 13.35% to public investors. (KR/ZH)
