JAKARTA. PT Gowa Makassar Tourism Development Tbk (GMTD) plans to distribute cash dividend of IDR 3 per share after successfully gaining IDR 8.9 billion of net profit in the fiscal year 2022.

Said plan follows the outcome of the Annual General Shareholders Meeting of GMTD held in Jakarta last week. In said meeting, the shareholders all agreed to allocate 3.39% of the 2022 net profit as cash dividend.

"We appreciate the management's effort in all attempts to overcome the pandemic and seize various growth opportunities to expand the business in a sustainable fashion during the transition period to endemic," Didik J. Rachbini, President Commissioner of GMTD, mentioned in the official statement.

For the record, GMTD's net profit in 2022 increased 132.9% year-on-year (yoy). This jump was made possible by another surge in its revenue, soaring 127% yoy to IDR 322.4 billion.

Until March 31, 2023, GMTD recorded cash and cash equivalent of IDR 16.4 billion, total assets of IDR 1.3 trillion, and total equity worth IDR 593 billion.

As of now, 32.5% of GMTD is under the control of PT Makassar Permata Sulawesi. Regional Government Level I of South Sulawesi also claims another 13%, followed by the Regional Government Level II of Makassar City of 6.5%, the Regional Government Level II of Gowa Regency of 6.5%, Yayasan Partisipasi Pembangunan Sulawesi Selatan of 6.5%, and public investors of 35%.
