Indeks52, new alternative index for Indonesia's capital market
JAKARTA - Indeks52, consisting of 52 constituents, will add to the portfolio of indexes for capital market players, particularly for millennial investors. This index comprises four categories, initiated by Tempo.co and IDNFinancials, a media and financial data platform established circa 2012.
The launching of Indeks52 last week (23/6) was opened with a discussion session titled "Boosting Capital Market Performance and Investment in the Era of Uncertainty." The keynote speaker for this session was Inarno Djajadi, Head Executive of Capital Market Supervision of the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
Other speakers include Vera Eve Lim, Director of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA); Irvan Susandy, Director of Trading and Regulation of Members of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX); Andry Asmoro, Chief Economist of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI); Hoesen, President Commissioner of PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia (KPEI); and Antonius Hari P.M., Head of Capital Market Regulation and Development Department of OJK.
Sebastian Kinaatmaja, Financial Director of PT Tempo Inti Media Tbk (TMPO), the parent entity of PT Info Media Digital (Tempo.co), gives his appreciation for Indeks52, which is hoped to be the alternative for millennial investors. The number of young investors is believed to continue growing in the future. Their number, as of May 2023, was recorded equal to 57.81% of the total investors of 11.03 million. Last year, the number of investors was approximately 10.31 million.
