JAKARTA – PT Saka Energi Indonesia (SAKA) is repurchasing (buyback) USD 200 million of the remaining Bonds 2017 worth USD 376.25 million. This corporate action plan will last for a month, starting yesterday (6/7) and ending on August 2.

Rachmat Utama, Corporate Secretary of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS), the subsidiary of SAKA, said that the money for this buyback originates from the company’s internal cash. “The buyback is meant as a proactive step to manage bonds that will mature in 2024,” he said in the information disclosure quoted Tuesday (11/7).

According to Utama, SAKA issued the bonds on May 5, 2017, worth USD 625 million. In 2022, the company had bought the bonds worth USD 200 million, in which USD 220 million of them was channelled through cash tender offer, and another USD 28.74 million through an open market purchase. (LK/ZH)
