The volume of foreign trade was high, with a net foreign volume surplus of nearly 200 million shares
JAKARTA - Foreign buying and selling volumes on Thursday, July 13, increased compared to the previous exchange day. The total number of shares purchased by foreign investors was 2.82 billion, while the total number of shares sold was 2.62 billion. As a result, the net foreign volume was nearly 200 million shares this time, or 198.87 million to be exact. Foreign purchases of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) shares also rose significantly, reaching more than 1.05 billion shares, with a net volume of around 152.42 million shares. Meanwhile, foreigners sold as many as 64 million shares of the marketplace company PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA), resulting in the lowest net volume of -40.92 million shares.
Following GOTO, the shares of telecommunications company PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN) were sold in the quantity of 104.60 million shares. With around 87.71 million shares recorded, its net volume was relatively high. The shares of mineral mining issuers PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) and PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), each with more than 100 million shares, were also selling well with foreign investors. However, BRMS had a higher net volume than its parent company, with 66.70 million BRMS and 41.77 million BUMI. The top buy list was then sealed by PT Wir Asia Tbk (WIRG), a technology company, with a sales volume of nearly 70 million shares and a net volume of nearly 30 million.
Meanwhile, the national bank, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI), and the private bank, PT Bank KB Bukopin Tbk (BBKP), then continued the top sell line. Foreign investors decided to sell approximately 44.70 million BBNI and 49.73 million BBKP, resulting in net volumes of approximately minus 32–33 million shares each. Around 42,61 million shares of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM), a state-owned telecommunications company, were also sold, with a net volume of around -24.65 million. Finally, foreign investors sold 35.13 million shares of the office building leasing company PT Intiland Development Tbk (DILD), bringing the net volume to nearly -19 million. (KD)
