Net foreign volume drops even further, now standing at a negative 374 million shares
JAKARTA - The net foreign volume appeared to be shifting deeper into the red zone at the end of the third week of July. On Friday, July 21, net foreign exchange closed at -374,861,600 after foreign investors released 2.15 billion shares but only purchased approximately 1.78 billion. Foreign sales of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) shares were once again the highest, with 617.15 million shares sold. In this digital ecosystem company, the net volume was also the lowest, at around -332.05 million. On the other hand, PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) reported foreign purchases of 110.68 million shares, with a net volume of 67.76 million being the highest this time.
Behind GOTO, foreign investors released 35.64 million shares of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA). However, the shares of this national airline company did not appear to be particularly popular, resulting in a net volume of approximately -35.27 million shares. Meanwhile, lifestyle retail company PT MAP Aktif Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPA) and coal mining company PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk (ADRO) both recorded a net volume of around -24 million shares. MAPA's foreign sales volume was 45.16 million, while ADRO's was approximately 34.34 million. A copper and gold mining company PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) then followed, closing the top-sell list with a sales volume of 19.11 million shares and a net volume of -18.10 million shares.
E-commerce company PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA), on the other hand, trailed BUMI on the top buy list with a foreign purchase volume of nearly 100 million shares. However, BUKA's net volume was only around 33.37 million due to the company's high foreign sales volume. Furthermore, three issuers gained similar net volumes of around 24 million shares: national bank PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI), hospital operator PT Metro Healthcare Indonesia Tbk (CARE), and home appliance retailer PT Ace Hardware Indonesia Tbk (ACES). The volume of purchases appeared to differ among the three, namely 82.40 million BMRI, 38.33 million CARE, and 52.25 million ACES. (KD)
