Improving rescue skills, UT Group held water rescue joint training
JAKARTA – In order to improve water rescue skills during emergency situations, PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR) or UT Group arranges a joint training for water rescue in Sunter Lake, North Jakarta. This training is attended by representatives of Emergency Response Team (ERT) of UT Group, aiming to increase operational effectiveness and enhance cooperation with related parties in dealing with accidents in the waters.
Countermeasures in facing emergency issues are highly vital. ERT of UT Group, particularly, must be competent in providing assistance. On the other hand, this joint training is a way of UT Group to anticipate any emergency situations, as well as an implementation of Astra Security Management System (ASMS) TOP 6 Security Networking and TOP 7 Security Protection.
This rescue joint training is also a form of UT Group’s commitment to continue positively contributing to the community by aiding emergency victims in the waters, including flood and river areas. In addition, this activity is also an implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects within the operational area of the company.
“This training session is carried out by UT Group to share knowledge and skills within ERT members. Through this training, UT Group will consistently provide contributions towards the community by providing swift and proper assistance during emergency,” Sara K. Loebis, Head of Corporate Governance and Sustainability of UT Group, explained.
The lessons given in this training session consist of two categories. The first is the basic lesson, conducted online, that talks about the communication during emergency, basic water rescue skills, tools, the danger of the waters, and the attitude of the rescue team. Then, the second lesson was given offline, in which they directly learn how to utilise water rescue equipment, such as rubber boats and attached pump-jets, and adopt water rescue techniques by transporting victims with boats.
The series of activities were carried out offline in two different sessions, on June 26 and July 9, 2023, kicked off with a sharing session between Astra’s and UT Group’s rescue teams regarding the operation of boats, utilising oars and pump-jets, and victim rescue techniques, such as reach, throw, row, go, and carry (RTRGT). Then, it is followed by a warming up, grouping, and practicing the techniques directly under respective group’s coach.
UT Group’s members that participate in this session consists of 50 representatives from PT Pamapersada Nusantara (PAMA), PT Traktor Nusantara, PT United Tractors Pandu Engineering (UTPE), PT Acset Indonusa Tbk (ACST), PT Bina Pertiwi, and PT Mitra Bakti United Tractors. Through this session, UT Group will do the utmost effort in offering sustainable safety for the people. (UT/ZH)
