JAKARTA. PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi Tbk (HITS), a marine transportation service provider, has signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) alongside PT Padoma Global Neo Energi.

Padoma Global is a company that manages liquified natural gas (LNG) business based in West Papua. In said MoU, HITS is said to distribute and market LNG from West Papua sold by Padoma Global.

Tonny Aulia Achmad, President Director of HITS, said that this MoU signing will assist the West Papua government in providing the LNG infrastructure for electric power plants in Jayapura. “The basic idea is helping and supporting each other in optimising business potential and resources,” he added.

In realising this MoU, HITS will execute the cooperative initiative through its affiliate, PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional (HUMI). According to the official release, HUMI also manages another subsidiary that is specifically engaged in the LNG transportation service, PT GTS Internasional Tbk (GTSI).

For over three decades, GTSI has collected experience in distributing LNGS to several power plants in Indonesia, including Jakarta, West Java, Bali, and Kalimantan. (KR/ZH)
