JAKARTA. PT IMC Pelita Logistik Tbk (PSSI), a marine transportation company previously called Pelita Samudera Shipping, booked net profit of USD 30 million in the first half of 2023.

The net profit of PSSI in H1 2023 increased 59% compared to the same period last year. In H1 2022, the company only scored net profit of USD 18.76 million.

Iriawan Ibarat, President Director of PSSI, said that in this second quarter of 2023, the company had conducted several strategies to renew its fleet. It is intended to seize opportunities in business diversification.

“We continue to improve our asset portfolio in all vessel segments. Several vessels that were deemed inefficient and costly in Q2 2023 will be divested as a part of our asset renewal initiatives,” Ibarat explained.

For the record, PSSI’s operating revenue in H1 2023 actually slipped 5.18% to USD 53.28 million. However, thanks to efficiency strategies, its cost of revenue was down 7.3% to USD 32.2 million.

In addition, the company also received financial income after divesting its fixed assets worth USD 15.68 million in H1 2023. Meanwhile, the financial income in the same period last year was stuck at USD 3.37 million. (KR/ZH)
