JAKARTA - On Tuesday, August 8, the volume of foreign sales exceeded 3.02 billion shares, far exceeding the volume of shares purchased, which was only around 2.27 billion shares. The net foreign volume dropped to -751,783,700 shares as a result. Surprisingly, the lowest net volume this time was over one billion shares in the red, or -1.06 billion to be exact, namely shares of technology issuer PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO). This is because foreign investors were selling more than 1.6 billion GOTO shares.

Furthermore, other top-selling issuers recorded a net volume of around -30 million shares. The second position was held by PT Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA), a television broadcasting issuer, whose shares were sold by foreigners for as many as 42.93 million shares, with a net volume of -36.65 million. Then, shares of the oil and gas exploration company PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) and the fuel oil distributor company PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (AKRA) were sold at 37.71 million and 41.57 million shares, respectively. However, both issuers reported negative net volumes of approximately 34 million shares. Actually, one of the leading national banks, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), reported quite high foreign sales, at 85.89 million shares, but the net volume was only around -27 million shares.

Meanwhile, foreign investors purchased large amounts of shares in mining parent company PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), palm oil producer PT Nusantara Sawit Sejahtera Tbk (NSSS), and electric vehicle company PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (VKTR), totaling 140.71 million BUMI, 117.26 million NSSS, and 104.63 million VKTR. The net volume of VKTR was slightly higher than that of BUMI, with 98.25 million and 92.33 million shares, respectively. The net volume of NSSS, however, was the lowest this time, at 31.02 million. Furthermore, foreign investors purchased up to 77.55 million shares of the e-commerce company PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA), with a net volume of around 55.95 million shares. Finally, 55.26 million shares of mining contractor PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) were purchased, with a net volume of 34 million shares. (KD)
