Four years gone, three issuers out of top 10 market cap list
JAKARTA - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) manage to hold to their jumbo market cap titles in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from July 2019 to July 2023. Meanwhile, three other issuers must give up their positions in the top 10 market capitalisation list in July 2023, replaced by coal mining and petrochemical companies.
Based on IDX data compiled by IDNFinancials today (10/8), in July 2021, there were 10 issuers with the highest market cap. They are BBCA with IDR 755.44 trillion, BBRI with IDR 547.06 trillion, PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) with IDR 368.44 trillion, PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk (HMSP) with IDR 352.44 trillion, PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) with IDR 332.68 trillion, PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) with IDR 283.238 trillion, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) with IDR 156.46 trillion, PT Gudang Garam Tbk (GGRM) with IDR 145.26 trillion, and PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk (ICBP) with IDR 124.78 trillion.
However, as of July 2023, 7 out of 10 issuers remain in the top 10 jumbo market cap of IDX, save for ICBP, GGRM, and HMSP. They are replaced by PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN), PT Amman Mineral Internsional Tbk (AMMN), and PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (TPIA). The total market cap of these 10 consists of BBCA of IDR 1.11 quadrillion, BBRI of IDR 847.74 trillion, BYAN of IDR 661.66 trillion, BMRI of IDR 528.99 trillion, TLKM of IDR 368.51 trillion, ASII of IDR 277.31 trillion, AMMN of IDR 202.08 trillion, TPIA of IDR 183.40 trillion, BBNI of IDR 163.85 trillion, and UNVR of IDR 146.87 trillion.
BCA and BBRI, which remain in the top 2, recorded market cap growth of IDR 358.19 trillion and IDR 300.68 trillion within the past four years. The market cap of BMRI rose IDR 160.45 trillion, whereas BBNI’s increased IDR 7.38 trillion. Meanwhile, the market cap of three other issuers showed decline, in which TLKM’s dropped to IDR 57.45 trillion, UNVR to IDR 185.79 trillion, and ASII to IDR 6.07 trillion. (LK/ZH)
