JAKARTA - On Tuesday, August 8, foreign investor UOB Kay Hian Pte Ltd. purchased 50 million shares of the issuer of cassava-based food products PT Budi Starch & Sweetener Tbk (BUDI). UOB Kay Hian previously owned approximately 5.35% stakes, but this Singapore-based investor now controls approximately 6.47%. This time, the largest divestment was also carried out by a foreign investor, GOTO Peopleverse Fund, which sold 43.16 million shares of digital ecosystem issuer PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO).

PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk (DOID) and PT Ramayana Lestari Sentosa Tbk (RALS) were also recorded as having conducted share buybacks. DOID is a mining holding company that purchased 5.43 million of its own shares, whereas RALS is a department store company that purchased 3.5 million of its own shares. Furthermore, PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk purchased 4.71 million shares of the hospital company PT Sarana Meditama Metropolitan Tbk (SAME), and PT Putra Borneo Agro Lestari purchased 1.2 million shares of the palm oil producer PT Sawit Sumbermas Sarana Tbk (SSMS). Furthermore, individual investor Peter Djatmiko added 102,500 shares of PT Communication Cable Systems Indonesia Tbk (CCSI) to his investment portfolio.

PT Semangat Bambu Runcing, on the other hand, sold 8 million shares of television broadcasting issuer PT Net Visi Media Tbk (NETV), followed by PT Esa Gemilang, which released 6.5 million shares of coal mining company PT Black Diamond Resources Tbk (COAL). PT Sunda Optima Pipe also reduced its stake in PT Sunindo Pratama Tbk (SUNI), an oil and gas industry pipe issuer, by 6 million shares. (KD)
