JAKARTA – Through its program, Sekolah Binaan UT (SOBAT) or UT development schools, PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR) held a Regional Coordination Meeting (RCM) of Central Java and Yogyakarta Special Region in State High School 1 of Adiwerna, Tegal, Central Java, on February 4, 2023. Other stakeholders in education were also involved in this RCM, including the Education and Culture Services of Central Java and dozens of UT development schools.

The CSR manager of UT, Himawan Sutanto, claimed that RCM SOBAT is a momentum for UT and education stakeholders in synergising programs of SOBAT 2023. The target is to enhance the education quality for students in UT development schools. In addition to this, this meeting acts as a place for UT to further explore the potential of those students through various programs in 2023.

Sutanto also mentioned that the collaboration, through RCM Sobat in Central Java and Yogyakarta, will be regularly held by UT as a form of optimum contribution for SOBAT programs across Indonesia. The RCM SOBAT 2023 was held for three days, staring from February 2 to 4, 2023. This activity is joined by UT, regional government, educational professional, and students of Heavy Equipment Technique program of SOBAT.

In a meeting led by the Head of Education and Culture Services of Central Java Area XII, Sulikhin, M. Pd., it was said that the meeting does not only synergise the programs, but also students in their participation in Tour de School in State High School 1 of Adiwerna. During the introduction to this school, which has been named ASEAN Eco School, the participants gain new insights on sustainable school management. One of other reasons is State High School 1 of Adiwerna has its own Waste Sorting Educational Spot.

At the end of this RCM, the participants then evaluated and completed Grand Plan of SOBAT for 2023, and the meeting is concluded with the signing of SOBAT UT Central Java – Yogyakarta of 2023. Grand Plan of SOBAT 2023 serves as a guideline for all educational stakeholders and development school of UT in conducting educational program throughout 2023.

SOBAT is a sustainability initiative of UT that is included in CSR pillars of UT in the education sector, UTFUTURE (United Tractors for Education and Bright Future). As of now, SOBAT has developed 1,614 schools across Indonesia. This sustainability program aims to improve the education quality for the masses, as well as granting fair access to education.

This contribution is a commitment of UT in enhancing the sustainability and implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles as an initiative to create added value and deliver a more talented, competitive, and independent Indonesian younger generation.
