Foreign net volume slid into negative territory, now at minus 62 million shares
JAKARTA - On Tuesday, September 5, foreign net volume slid into negative territory, closing at minus 62,791,800 shares. Foreign investors purchased a total of 2.39 billion shares, while approximately 2.45 billion shares were released. The largest share purchase was recorded by mineral mining company PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) with 328.94 million shares. BRMS also had the highest net volume, with 237.32 million shares. In contrast, PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) had the highest foreign sales volume of 430.35 million shares, while its net volume was -258.80 million shares.
PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), BRMS' parent company, actually sold more shares than its subsidiary. Although foreign buyers purchased 444.28 million BUMI shares, the net volume was only close to 123.68 million. Following that, around 75.24 million shares of PT Industri Dan Perdagangan Bintraco Dharma Tbk (CARS) were bought without many being sold, resulting in a relatively high net volume of 72.30 million. Shares of PT Smartfren Telecom (FREN) were also popular, as proven by the purchase of 143.79 million shares of this telecommunications company. Unfortunately, many FREN shares were also sold, resulting in a net volume of only 25.91 million shares. PT Black Diamond Resources Tbk (COAL), a coal producer, also made the top buy list, with a volume of 34.26 million shares and a net volume of roughly half that.
Foreign investors, on the other hand, dumped nearly 100 million shares of mining contractor PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA). DEWA's net volume was also negative at 68.72 million shares. Petrochemical company PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) was next, with a sales volume of 57.95 million shares and a net volume of -38.08 million. Finally, nickel mining company PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL) and electric vehicle battery manufacturer PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (MBMA) both reported 42 million shares of foreign sales volumes. But still. NCKL had a slightly lower net volume than MBMA, with around -35.91 million NCKL and -33.72 million MBMA, respectively. (KD)
