Mitsui & Co. recently purchased 252 million shares of Pelat Timah (NIKL), gaining control of 10% of the company
JAKARTA - On September 6, a foreign investor known as SMTBUSA S/A Mitsui & Co. Ltd. purchased 252.33 million shares of PT Pelat Timah Nusantara Tbk (NIKL). The Japanese investor immediately gained control of 10% stake in the issuer, which operates in the tinplate industry. Palm oil producer PT Nusantara Sawit Sejahtera Tbk (NSSS) also saw significant share purchases, with PT Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia purchasing 284.53 million shares.
Furthermore, two individual investors were observed adding shares to their portfolios. To begin, Philmon Samuel Tanuri purchased 12.10 million shares of brokerage and underwriting firm PT Trimegah Sekuritas Indonesia Tbk (TRIM), while Eka Murniasih purchased 6.77 million shares of vocational services firm PT IDeA Indonesia Akademi Tbk (IDEA). Furthermore, UOB Kay Hian Private Limited claimed 4.5 million shares of wine producer PT Hatten Bali PT Tbk (WINE), and PT Ramayana Lestari Sentosa (RALS) pulled back 2.5 million RALS shares into its ownership.
Meanwhile, PT Esa Gemilang was discovered selling 12.77 million shares of coal producer PT Black Diamond Resources Tbk (COAL), and PT Sinar Mas Cakrawala was noticed selling at least 3.77 million shares of financial services firm PT Sinar Mas Multiartha Tbk (SMMA). Returning to the foreign investor side, the GOTO Peopleverse Fund divested 35.57 million shares of the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), as did Morgan Stanley and Co. International Plc, which divested 62,900 shares of the production house PT MD Pictures Tbk (FILM). (KD)
