JAKARTA. PT Nusatama Berkah Tbk (NTBK), a manufacturer of special vehicles designed for mining and logistics, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Norinco International.

Said MoU marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between NTBK and Norinco to manufacture electric trucks in Indonesia. The signing of this MoU was held coinciding with Indonesia Mining Expo 2023.

For the initial phase of MoU, NTBK and Norinco will conduct a joint review regarding a major investment plan in order to support the establishment of electric trucks manufacturing facility in Indonesia. This plant will then produce electric trucks under local NTBK brand.

The technology utilised for these electric trucks is said to originate from BEIBEN EV Trucks, a global automotive brand initially developed alongside Mercedes-Benz.

“Until now, BEIBEN has been extensively utilised as defence vehicles in China, as BEIBEN is the outcome of technology development of Mercedes-Benz,” said Felik Widyo Makuprathowo, Project Director & Corporate Secretary Nusatama Special Vehicle, in an official disclosure. (KR/ZH)
