Foreign transactions increased, and net foreign closed at minus 182 million share
JAKARTA - The number of shares purchased and sold by foreign investors looked to be growing on Wednesday, September 20, with net foreign volume totaling -182.09 million shares. Foreign purchases were 2.28 billion shares, while overall sales totaled 2.46 billion shares. In contrast to the previous days, shares of digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia (GOTO) are currently the most sold by foreign investors, with 908.98 million shares sold for a net volume of -526.46 million shares. Meanwhile, according to the top buy list, foreign investors purchased 112.91 million shares of the e-commerce company PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA), with total share sales of 52.97 million shares, for a net volume of 59.94 million shares.
Following BUKA, foreign investors were seen purchasing shares in two state-owned companies. First, 112.36 million shares of the telecommunication company PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) were acquired, with a net volume of 53.68 million shares purchased. Second, with a net volume of 30.16 million shares, 54.91 million shares of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI), which operates in the banking sector, were acquired. In the mining industry, foreign investors also purchased 46.53 million shares of PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk (DOID) for a net volume of 41.99 million shares, followed by 102.41 million shares of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) for a net volume of 53 million shares.
Share sales by foreign investors in the range of 40 million shares also included the energy investment business PT MNC Energy Investments Tbk (IATA) and the oil and gas company PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (MEDC) on the top sell list. IATA then had a net volume of -40.40 million shares while MEDC had -31.95 million shares. Furthermore, the shares of Indonesia’s largest media business, PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk (MNCN), were sold for 24.57 million shares, while the purchase totaled only 3.82 million shares, resulting in a net volume of -20.75 million shares. Finally, banking firm PT Bank Neo Commerce Tbk (BBYB) shares had a foreign sales value of 35.10 million shares and a net volume of -19.60 million shares. (KD)
