Foreign investors only bought 2.73 billion shares; net foreign volume closed at minus 820 million
JAKARTA - On Tuesday, October 17, total foreign buys were in the range of 2.73 billion shares, while total foreign sales reached 3.55 billion shares. As a result, the net foreign volume stood at -820.46 million shares. With a net volume of roughly 20 million shares each, the shares of rice distributor PT Buyung Poetra Sembada Tbk (HOKI) and home goods retailer PT Ace Hardware Indonesia Tbk (ACES) were the two most acquired. Foreign investors purchased approximately 24.21 million HOKI and 34.46 million ACES shares.
Mining contractor PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) shares were also purchased for 21.71 million shares with a net volume of 19.39 million shares, followed by general contractor PT Koka Indonesia Tbk (KOKA) shares, which were bought for 23.31 million shares with a net foreign volume of 16.56 million shares. The top-buy list was then completed by the purchase of 29 million shares in the telecommunications business PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN), with a net volume of 11.24 million shares.
Meanwhile, PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) reported a foreign sales volume of roughly 2.07 billion shares, with a net volume of -776.14 million shares. A total of 51.56 million shares of PT MNC Vision Networks Tbk (IPTV), which provides subscription broadcasting services, were also released, for a net volume of -50.59 million shares. In the mineral mining sector, PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) shares were sold for 41.34 million shares, with a net volume of around -33.60 million shares.
The top-selling list was concluded by the sale of shares in two financial businesses, with a net volume in the range of -20 million shares. Shares of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) were sold as many as 51.28 million, while shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) were sold roughly 83.14 million. (KD)
