Foreign purchasing volume was higher; net foreign volume hit 96 million
JAKARTA - Unlike the previous few days, the net foreign volume on Thursday, October 19, was closed as a surplus. The overall number of shares purchased by foreign investors was 3.28 billion, while the total number of shares sold was roughly 3.18 billion. As a result, the net foreign volume managed to escape the red zone, closing at approximately 96.44 million shares.
The most purchased shares were those of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), which totaled 1.55 billion shares with a net volume of roughly 492.20 million shares. Following that, foreign investors purchased 41.33 million shares of PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI), resulting in a net volume of 30.99 million shares. In the petrochemical and energy sectors, 47.72 million shares of PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) were purchased, for a net volume of 18.63 million shares. Shares of PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk (META), a company involved in infrastructure development, were also purchased, totaling 68.02 million shares with a net volume of 15.68 million shares. The top-buy list was then completed with the purchase of 33.51 million shares of PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk (ADRO), which had a net volume of 13.05 million shares.
Meanwhile, shares in four distinct banking companies dominated the top-selling list. First, 73.69 million PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) shares were sold, with a net volume of -52.55 million shares. Second, 99.26 million PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) shares were sold, for a net volume of -47.25 million shares. Third, with a net foreign volume of -40.53 million shares, foreign investors sold around 120.20 million shares of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI). In fourth place, 43.39 million shares of PT Bank BTPN Syariah Tbk (BTPS) were also released, with a net volume of -37.31 million shares. Finally, about 47.08 million shares of PT Humpuss Maritim Indonesia Tbk (HUMI), a port and maritime services company, were sold, with a net volume of -36.50 million shares. (KD)
